Charles Spurgeon called the church prayer room “the boiler room,” that is, the engine room of the church.  At Southport Pres, we think prayer is important.  Prayer enables us to grow in our intimacy with and dependency on God.  God invites us to come to Him with the confidence and freedom of little children and ask our loving and merciful Father for the things we need.

Prayer During Worship Services:  We have a team of people who pray every Sunday during our worship gatherings. While we express our worship to God and receive instruction from his Word, they are lifting us up in prayer.  If you’d like to join them, contact Kimmy Hock.

Prayer Cover:  This team prays throughout the week in 30 minute time slots.  They pray for the church, the community, and the world.  At Southport, we take seriously the instruction from 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to “pray without ceasing.”  To get involved, email Gloria Taylor  or call her at 317-346-0557.
