True Self Retreat
Register: Click here to attend the retreat.
Dates: January 24-26, 2020. Begins at 8pm on Friday and ends at 11am on Sunday.
Location: The Seasons Lodge, 560 State Rd 46, Nashville, IN 47448
Topic/What to Expect: Jesus talks a lot about “dying to self.” What on earth does he mean? The ancient spiritual writers suggest all of us have a “true self” and a “false self.” My false self is who I’ve learned to be, it’s who I think you want me to be, at the end of the day, it’s not the real me. The real me is my true self, the person God created me to be. One aspect of “dying to self” is learning to let go of the self that I’ve constructed and more fully embrace the man or woman God designed me to be. Over the weekend, we’ll discuss these concepts in a relaxed environment. There will be plenty of time for rest and reflection—you won’t come away tired! All of Saturday afternoon is free time for rest, outdoor activities, or connecting with new friends. In addition to the topic, we will practice some ancient forms of prayer called Fixed Hour Prayer and Lectio Divina (don’t worry, these are easier and more enjoyable than they might sound!). For more information, contact Pastor Glen at firstname.lastname@example.org. We think you’ll have a great time, so, hope you can join us!
Cost: The cost of the retreat includes two breakfasts and lunch on Saturday. Dinner Friday and Saturday is on your own. Please make a $50 non-refundable deposit ASAP or by December 15, 2019 to reserve your spot.
