About Us
Our Mission
We Are Ordinary People Pursuing God’s Extraordinary Call
Southport Presbyterian Church has been built on the foundational belief that we are ordinary people, on the south side of Indianapolis, looking to serve the community, the world and ultimately the Kingdom by following God’s extraordinary call.
Our Strategy

Look Up
The spiritual journey begins by looking up to God and realizing true joy and fulfillment come from Him. Our Sunday morning worship gatherings are designed to rehearse the gospel story and turn our gaze back to the true source of life.

Lean In
Authentic Christian community goes beyond the surface and provides a place of safety, acceptance and trust where we can expose our false self and instead reveal and nurture our self. This journey begins in our Sunday morning Community Hour and continues in Groups and Studies throughout the week.

Move Out
We can’t fulfill our mission by staying in our holy huddles; moving out requires action and service on our parts. We serve inside the walls of the church to build up the body of Christ and then we join our strategic community partners to bring the gospel to others through words and deeds.
Our Core Values
We believe that we have five core values that fuel what we do here are Southport Pres. These core values are central to us, our ministry and our impact in our community around us.
Our Beliefs
What We Believe
As part of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, we stand in the historic Christian faith and the Reformed tradition. We believe the Bible is the Word of God and our supreme authority for what we believe and how we live.
Our beliefs are summarized in the EPC’s Essentials of Our Faith and expressed more fully in the Westminster Confession of Faith.
The Bible
We believe the Bible, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired and infallible Word of God. Scripture is a complete and unified witness to God’s redemptive work culminating in Jesus Christ and is the supreme and final authority on all matters on which it speaks.
God
We believe in one God, the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things. He is infinitely perfect and eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. To Him belong all honor, glory, and praise.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ, the living Word, is truly God and truly man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, and now serves as our High Priest and Mediator.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit glorifies Christ and applies Christ’s saving work to us. He convicts us of sin, draws us to the Savior, gives us new life, dwells within believers, equips us for service, guides us into truth, and seals us for the day of redemption.
Salvation
We believe that because of sin, humanity is estranged from God and unable to save itself. Our salvation depends entirely upon God’s free grace. God credits His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for salvation, making us His children and heirs of eternal life.
The Church
We believe the true Church is made up of all who have saving faith in Jesus Christ and are united by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ. The Church finds visible expression in local congregations where God’s Word is faithfully preached, the sacraments are rightly administered, biblical discipline is practiced, and believers share in loving fellowship.
Christ’s Return
We believe Jesus Christ will personally, visibly, and bodily return to earth to judge the living and the dead and bring God’s eternal plan to its completion.
Our Mission
We believe Jesus commands His people to proclaim the gospel throughout the world and make disciples of all nations. Following Christ means giving ourselves to lives of love, service, and the good works God has prepared for us
