Love God. Love Each Other. Serve The World.

Welcome to Southport Presbyterian

We would love a chance to meet you and get to know you, and also to tell you about our heart and passion for loving God, loving each other, and serving the world.

Why  Jesus

Jesus of Nazareth was more than a great teacher, a nice guy, or a good example to follow.  He was sent by God for a distinct purpose.  But what does that have to do with me?

Current Sermon Series

Many of us live with a scarcity mindset — a belief that we will never have enough of what we need. Never enough money, time, food, care, comfort, margin. And so we live in continual insecurity. We battle fear. We’re tempted to believe we must provide for ourselves.   Yet God promises a life of abundance.

True Self Retreat

Jesus talks a lot about “dying to self.”  What on earth does he mean?  The ancient spiritual writers suggest all of us have a “true self” and a “false self.”   My false self  is who I’ve learned to be, it’s who I think you want me to be, at the end of the day, it’s not the real me.   The real me is my true self, the person God created me to be. One aspect of “dying to self” is learning to let go of the self that I’ve constructed and more fully embrace the man or woman God designed me to be.  Over the weekend, we’ll discuss these concepts in a relaxed environment. There will be plenty of time for rest and reflection—you won’t come away tired!
