kids Ministry
“Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom.
One generation commends your works to another;
they tell of your mighty acts.”
Psalm 145 implores us to pass the faith on to the next generation. In our children’s ministry, we seek to do this through a curriculum called Hyfi which teaches the truths of Scripture in a way that helps preschoolers, kids, and students understand their true identity in Christ. Hyfi is tons of fun while remaining faithful to the Bible.
Our K-5th graders begin as a large group in the Loft, where they then split into smaller, grade-specific groups. This allows them to explore the weekly Bible story in greater detail, have fun with crafts, and enjoy games. Meanwhile, younger children start out in their classrooms and later gather as a large group to sing, dance, and praise the Lord together.

Fall Kick off
It's back to school time which means time for our youth to kick into high gear! We'll be launching our fall programming for our middle school and high schoolers on August 24th with Slip N Slide Kickball, frozen treats, and all kinds of fun ways to get involved and make new friends. This is a great event to attend for the first time if you're new, and to invite friends and loved ones.
Sunday August 24th
6:00PM - 8:00PM

Youth Ministry
Sunday nights are paused for the middle of August, make sure to join us for our fall kick off on the 24th!
At Southport Pres we have a very active Middle School and High School Ministry. Our combined Youth Ministry exists to know Jesus Christ, to create community, to live the Good News of Christ, to grow in faith and to discover God’s purpose for our individual lives.
We gather multiple times a week to help students grow in their love for God and each other and to engage in service to those inside and outside of our church. Students meet on Sunday mornings during Community Hour to dig deeper into God’s word and grow in their relationship with God.
Middle School meets upstairs in The Family Room
High School meets in Paul Gearhart's office in the Center Hallway
We meet Sunday evenings for fun and fellowship, a Bible teaching, and age-appropriate small group discussion.
Wednesday nights we meet at the church for open gym volleyball. Recreation is an important part of building meaningful connections and knowing the joy of the Lord in every area of life. All skill levels welcome, this is for fun!
Beginning this fall on Wednesday Sept. 3rd
Throughout the year we also have small groups, discipleship training, mission trips, summer camp, outreach events and a myriad of fun activities.
