Small Group Values

Our small group ministry has a series of values.  Some describe values as "the core principles" that guide an organization or ministry.  Here are some of our guiding principles:

Living Things Grow and Living Things Give Life to New Things.  We believe that healthy small groups will, in time, give life to new groups.

Missionary Spirits.  We believe the best small group leaders are already in a group, therefore, we challenge groups to send out missionaries to start new groups.

One Size Doesn’t Fit All.  We believe each group has freedom to determine the nuances of its focus.  In thinking of the 3 B's that I've been writing about, one group may put a greater focus on Belonging (Community) while another group may put a greater focus on Blessing (Mission) . . . and still another group may emphasize Becoming (Growth)

Eliminate Barriers.  We want to make it easy for new people to get involved, therefore, we have a “bus stop” every August.  At a bus stop, people get on and people get off.  We encourage our groups to meet for 9 months at a time and reevaluate.

The Small Group Ministry is a Ministry.  The small group is not primarily about "me and my needs," though I do receive a benefit.  The small group is about “one another ministry.”
