And we have a deal!!!

As of this afternoon, we will have a signed contract with Homestead Development LLC (an Ohio company), to purchase our North Lot.  Homestead Development builds residential communities for active seniors (55 years and older).  

The particulars…
The acreage: between 11.2 - 11.7 acres of land
The price: $123,500 per acre

Like any contract (think house sale), there is a season between a signed contract and closing.  But, unlike a house sale, the time frame is quite a bit longer.  In particular, the buyer has 210 days (7 months) to complete the process to close, which includes setting rezoning, design, planning, infrastructure development, surveys, hearings, etc. They also have up to two 30 day extensions if needed.

What’s next…
Well…let’s begin by celebrating.  The Lord has been very good to us in this process.  Let’s also thank Dave Heasley and his team (Ron Epple, Julie Mennel, Matt Smith) who have done a brilliant job.  Things have moved smoothly and quickly.  Way to go team!!!

After celebrating, let’s remember that Jesus calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves…and it appears He will be bringing us some new neighbors.  So, let’s begin to pray for our new neighbors and the opportunity to live out the Gospel with them.
