Kid's Sunday School begins September 12

SOUTHPORT PRES KIDS:
PROMOTION DAY IS SEPTEMBER 12

We are excited to begin Sunday School on September 12th.  It feels like a new start with a new Sunday schedule, new Sunday KidMin team, new check in stations and a new 3 year cycle journeying through the Bible.  Not to mention, our new kids ministry logo and fresh coat of paint in the Gathering Place gives me all the feels.

As we prepare to launch our new Sunday schedule, here are a few things that we would like for families to know:

General ministry information:
  • Please do not bring food or drink into the classrooms, including juice and donuts.
  • There will be multiple check in stations downstairs and upstairs.  Please check-in all kids and save the security tag.  A teacher may ask to see it if they do not recognize you.
  • Please do not bring your child to church if they are sick for the health of our families and our staff.
  • It would be best to leave toys at home, unless there are separation anxiety issues or used for calming a child down.  Toys may end up broken or misplaced which causes many tears.

9:45 Sunday School Hour:
  • Infants through Kindergarten: Drop off and pick up in upstairs classrooms.
  • Elementary 1st through 5th grade: Drop off upstairs in the Loft, pick-up downstairs in the classrooms.
  • Please arrive on time and pick up your child promptly so our team can attend worship.
  • Some families would like their child to be released at the end of the Sunday School hour.  We allow this for upper elementary students, 3rd-5th grade, with written permission.  Permission forms are located in the classrooms.  Please note that kids will be released after all other children are picked up.
  • We encourage your elementary child to bring their Bible to Sunday School and worship.  Please make sure they are labeled so they can be returned if misplaced.
  • Please encourage your child to use the restroom before coming into the classrooms.

11:00 Childcare Hour:
  • Childcare is only available for infants through Kindergarten in the upstairs classrooms.
  • Elementary students, 1st through 5th grade, will worship with their families.
  • Please check-in all kids for either or both hours.
  • We respectfully ask that our "helpers" are middle school age and older.  No elementary  helpers allowed unless the child's parent is the caregiver for that classroom.
  • This hour is mostly childcare.  However, we will have additional activities and the Bible story available for the caregivers.

We have volunteer opportunities if you are looking for a place to serve.  We would love to have you on our team!  Also, if you have any questions for us, we are happy to help.  Reach out to me, Melissa Davis, at mdavis@southportpres.org or Holly Richards at hrichards@southportpres.org.

We look forward to seeing you on September 12th!

So the next generation will know.....
